Once I hear from you, I’ll reach out to talk through your vision, answer any questions, and guide you through the next steps. To help me create the best painting, please provide:     •    Photos: Clear, close-up images of your subject(s) - pets, loved ones, or people. Eye-level shots showing the face, ears, chest, and full body are ideal. Send as many photos as you can - the more, the merrier, please and thank you! If you don’t have perfect photos, that’s okay! I can work with what you have and may provide a mock-up.     •    Details: Names, breeds (if applicable), and a short description of personality or character traits.     •    Background preference: Gradient or scenery. If you’re unsure, I can provide examples to help you decide.     •    Location: Your country of residence for currency conversion.     •    Contact: Your email or phone number so I can reach you personally. Note: Please book ahead, especially if you have a deadline, as commissions are scheduled in order of booking. All deposits and payments are non-refundable, as outlined in the contract.

Absolutely! I can wrangle a painting even if you don’t have a single photo of all your subjects together. I’ll carefully combine individual photos to capture their personalities and make the composition look natural - whether it’s your herd of furry friends or a beloved human. Please send as many photos as you can - the more, the merrier, please and thank you! I prefer them at eye level so I can see your subjects as if I were walkin’ past the finished painting in a gallery. Clear, high-quality photos help me capture expressions, posture, and all those little details that make them who they are. If your photos aren’t perfect - maybe a bit blurry, low-light, or missing a certain pose - don’t worry. I can work with what you’ve got, or create a mock-up to fill in the gaps and make it a one-of-a-kind painting that truly shows their spirit. Note: Extra photos from different angles or expressions always help me bring your furry (or human) loved ones to life.

I work in pastels because they let me capture your subjects and their world exactly as I see it in my mind’s eye. Soft, vibrant, and full of life, pastels give me the freedom to layer colours gently, bring out the shine in an eye, the swirl of fur or feathers, and settle the shadows of the mountains, valleys, or forests behind them just right. Pastels have a delicate texture, so I leave a border for framing and do not use a fixative. This keeps the colours true for years to come. Pastels are perfect for showing the quiet, steady spirit of your loyal ranch dogs, spirited farm favourites, curious barn cats, wild creatures of the frontier, or any cherished animal companion. They bring out the personality and soul of each subject in a way that feels alive and settled naturally in its world. Each painting takes a few weeks to a few months to finish. It depends on the size of the piece and how much there is to bring to life. Some paintings have more to wrangle than others – the shine in an eye, the swirl of fur or feathers, the curve of a hoof or paw, or the tilt of a head. Every detail matters, and I let it settle naturally as the painting grows. In the studio, I work steady and gentle, layer by layer, letting the piece come together at its own pace. I never rush a painting. Some need more time than others, and that is part of what makes each one special. When it finally leaves my hands, it feels ready and true to the spirit of your companion, whether it’s a loyal ranch dog, a spirited farm favourite, a wild creature of the frontier, or any cherished friend of yours. I keep you updated along the way and can provide progress photos so you can watch your subject come to life on the easel.

You can either pay in full on the same day as booking or choose a payment arrangement: pay a non-refundable deposit first, then the remaining balance either in full or in instalments. The total must be paid in full within one year from the time of booking. The deposit is non-refundable, because you are reserving a spot on my calendar/waitlist and by doing so, it will place you in the queue. Once your spot is secured, that time slot is exclusively reserved for you. In doing so, I would be turning down other potential clients who would have been able to fill the said spot, hence the non-refundable deposit. Payment methods:     •    E-transfer: For Canadian clients     •    PayPal: For international clients Note: This ensures your portrait gets the time, attention, and care it deserves – from colours and brushstrokes to behaviour and personality.

If a client chooses to cancel a commission after booking, all payments, including the deposit, are non-refundable. This is because your spot on my calendar was exclusively reserved just for you, and I’ve turned down other potential wranglers, clients who could have filled that spot. Cancelling doesn’t undo the time, materials, or effort already set aside for your painting, so it’s important to be certain before booking. This mirrors the terms in the contract - once your spot is booked and payment arranged, your painting is officially reserved.

Every painting rides out of my studio with love, care, and top-notch, high-archival materials, built to last for a lifetime. I always tuck in Art Care Instructions so you know exactly how to handle and display your piece safely.     •    Pastels: Only touch the border, not the painted surface - this keeps the colours vibrant and smudge-free. I do not use fixative, so your artwork stays true and beautiful for a lifetime. Pastel portraits will arrive in a temporary frame and lid, which should stay on until you take it to a professional framer. They’ll peel it off properly so your portrait can be framed safely and shine in all its glory.     •    Acrylics and oils: These portraits come with a hanger on the back, so they’re ready to hang on your wall as soon as they arrive. If you’d like, they can also be framed in a floating frame for extra protection or presentation. They’re varnished or finished to guard against dust and light, but it’s best to keep them out of direct sunlight and extreme humidity. When shipping, each painting is carefully wrapped, padded, and reinforced through my Collector Protection & Transit Preparation process, so it travels safely and arrives ready for you to display or frame as you wish.

At this time, I offer original works in pastels, acrylics, and oils. Each piece is one of a kind and will never be replicated. Custom Engineering:     •    Each painting is secured within a hand-crafted internal support system, designed to withstand the bumps and jolts of its journey.     •    Rigid protective supports maintain the painting’s position, safeguarding the surface and structure throughout the transit.     •    Exterior handling indicators, including Fragile and Do Not Stack On Top, reinforce careful treatment and preserve the painting’s integrity. Impact Protection:     •    The internal system keeps the painting fully suspended and protected, preventing the contact, pressure, punctures, or shifting.     •    Premium archival-grade materials provide the maximum cushioning, absorbing shocks, vibrations, and impacts along the journey. Detailed Documentation:     •    Every shipment includes printed care instructions, studio documentation, and presentation materials, reflecting the same meticulous craftsmanship as the painting itself.     •    Full-valuation insurance is included, covering the transit damage. In the unlikely event of loss or damage, a replacement or similar piece can be created, honouring the full value of your painting – it rides insured like a true treasure. Shipping & Payment:     •    Shipping costs are calculated while I am at the post office, based on the weight, dimensions, destination, and delivery speed. That’s why I remind you to keep your phone on you – each shipment is done in one trip only. I’ll send you the shipping quote as soon as I get it, as I can’t make multiple trips. The quote is for that single shipment, and the shipping rate is subject to change if calculated on a different day. Shipping, tariff/customs duties, and the protection fee are non-negotiable.     •    The payment of the total is required before your painting can ride out, via e-transfer (Canadian clients) or PayPal (international clients).     •    If the total cost of the shipping, tariff/customs duties, and protection service payment aren’t paid for while I am at the post office, your painting will remain safely in the studio until you are ready to pay.     •    Your painting is already securely packaged and protected ahead of time, ensuring it rides out safe and ready for its journey.     •    Once the shipping, tariff/customs duties, and protection service payment are received, your painting rides out on its one-trip journey, directly from the studio to your doorstep. Tracking & Insurance:     •    All shipments include tracking and insurance, covering the transit damage only – not handling once the painting reaches your hands. Timing:     •    Domestic or international, your painting rides out from the studio as soon as payment is received, traveling safely and directly to your doorstep, ready to be admired and cherished. Be sure to review the printed care instructions included in the package upon arrival.

Every painting that leaves the studio comes with tracking and full transit insurance, so you can follow its journey from my studio to your doorstep.     •    Tracking: You’ll get the tracking number as soon as the painting is shipped, so you can watch it travel every step of the way.     •    Insurance: Covers damage during transit, giving you peace of mind that if anything happens on the road, I’ll create a replacement or similar piece. As long as I am fully refunded.     •    Important note: Insurance covers transit only - once the painting reaches your hands, it’s your responsibility to handle and display it safely.
