Out West: My Story
Samantha has been painting portraits for collectors near and far since 2016 - creating beloved pets, majestic wildlife, western scenes, stunning landscapes, and occasionally humans. Over the last decade, she has honed her craft to create paintings that are both realistic and full of heart, capturing the spirit of every subject she brings to life.
Her journey began humbly on the floor of her home, with paint-stained hands and a quiet determination. She moved to a little corner in the kitchen, where sunlight streamed across her small workspace, and eventually found her footing on an easel in a studio of her own - a space carved out with patience, grit, and a deep love for the work she does. Every brushstroke carries the rhythm of those early days, the smell of paint, and the feel of the wilds she calls home.
Growing up on a farm in a picturesque valley, surrounded by Canadian wildlife and the ever-changing seasons, Samantha developed a deep connection to the natural world. The songs of birds, the rustle of leaves in the wind, and the quiet strength of the land around her all found their way into her paintings. That connection to animals, nature, and the rugged beauty of the wilderness continues to inspire her work every day.
She is grateful for the kindred spirits who have supported her journey - collectors, clients, and friends who value her art and the heart behind it. Each painting she creates carries a little of her homestead, her heart, and the wilds she calls home. With a brush in hand and colours on her hands, she rides the open trail, letting the rhythm of the land and the spirit of the wild guide her creations.
